In cooperation with the Roncalli Circus Theatre, the market on the Christmas promenade will be held for the first time this year. The newly created market will be located on the picturesque Rhine promenade between Burgplatz and Alter Holzbrücke.

The concept of the market is unique for Düsseldorf and the surrounding area and promises a creative design that will set striking accents with class and style during the Christmas season in Düsseldorf. Nostalgic sales trolleys and glass pavilions create a special atmosphere reminiscent of Art Nouveau orangeries. For cyclists, a cycle path detour will be installed via the Rathaus Ufer.

3: Craftsmen market:

At the foot of the equestrian statue of Elector Jan Wellem, the market square is home to a craftsman’s market with huts and little houses that are similar in colour and style to the brick building of the historic Renaissance town hall.

The fairytale market is located between Schadowstraße and Königsallee and is ideal for a journey of discovery into the enchanting world of German fairytales.

Event details

15,000 LEDs ensure that the square shines in magical light – as a fairytale world for young and old. The wooden silhouettes on the huts are based on illustrations specially created by an artist. Some elements of the silhouettes even move. A special highlight: an impressive ice sculpture that is powered by sustainable heat pump technology.

8: Schadow market

The Shadow Market is located on one of Düsseldorf’s most important shopping streets, right next to the theatre. Here you can find almost everything for every budget.
